It’s not that excessive I think (by US standards). NBC has atleast 10 studios on the east coast dedicated to the news division (five in New York, four in DC in two locations and one in Miami). Granted not all are used but they are used on a fairly regular basis. Then there are two in LA, one joint CNBC one in San Francisco plus two mini studios (a bit more than a DTL studio in Chicago and Dallas). That’s off the top of my head and not including the Telemundo ones that are shared.

Definitely by US standards.
In Canada, we have two news channels. Each have one studio in Ottawa, one in Toronto for the flagship national newscast and one or two more in Toronto for the news channel. That's all. They're quite frugal in comparison.

There's a bit on that studio at Newscast Studio:

Quote:
“We continually update and invest in our studios, set technology and show looks. Studio J has always been an important studio for many show productions and special events. It is also one of our largest studios. We now have 14 studios between our New York Headquarters, D.C. and L.A. bureaus , so there is always a studio project in the works,” said Blangiforti.

That's excessive and seems unnecessary.
They really do have money to burn. At least it keeps people employed.

Also worth pointing out we have a much larger population. Hannity on Fox News garners an average 3 million viewers where BBC News at Ten averages in the 3 millions.

I guess if you are propaganda machine, like FNC you need every tool a your disposal, like a plethora of studios. Maybe FNC should hire Ri Chun-hee. She already wears the solid coloured dresses. Just need flexible legs that would be frequently shown on air. But then again she doenst have the blonde hair.

I think you missed Mouseboy's point -- or maybe you've never seen Fox News. I think it's safe to say that the channel doesn't hire its news anchors based on their brains.

Unless they're politically biased, have connections with the GOP or were raised with Republican values.

When Jillian Mele replaced Heather Nauert on Fox and Friends, they did a puff piece on Mele's background which was the patriotic all American family.
