FOX News Channel changes

Can't find this anywhere else (September 2006)

I know it's not really a news channel, but it seemed the most appropriate forum. Apologies if it has been mentioned elsewhere but can't find it.

The black "news" scroller is still there, but the two-part rotating FNC logo and clock have been moved down the screen.

The astons still pretty much line up with the top of the FNC logo. They have ditched their previous caption font and replaced it with Gill Sans, and it does looked dated (to British eyes anyway).

They are now carrying adverts too. When they do not have enough adverts to fill a break, there is a Sky News generated breakfiller a la the old BBC World breakfiller.

The channel is still garbage yet strangely watchable.

There are also some programming changes happening at Fox. E.D. Hill has been removed as a co-host of Fox and Friends and moved to a much less prominent general news anchor post. Apparently she wasn't told about her move until after the programme finished yesterday, when Fox sent out press releases about the change. Looks like she has just been moved out of the way to somewhere less important and will be let go once her contract expires. Gretchen Carlson replaces her.

Some new shows and presenter changes at 6pm and 7pm UK time because Dayside has finished, due to the presenters of that show moving to a brand new FOX network morning show starting early next year.

Surely you mean 'rubbish'? Been watching too much Fox, methinks.

And, honestly, Johnnyboy, how can you criticise this sort of thing:

Haha, cat, I saw that question posed by them and I burst out laughing too!

It is a truly awful channel - however, the way they foist their war-mongering on the viewers is strangely watchable.

Given that FOX and Friends is the top Cable TV breakfast show in the States, it's strange that they have removed E D from the show. Wonder whether there will be a backlash from viewers?

Actually I've been surfing an American tv news website and most have the same opinion as well:

I agree, the new graphics are a terrible step back looks very 90's.
