Though the 11pm and 12am repeats/replays usually get pretty good ratings from West Coast viewers, and until a week or two ago MSNBC's usual schedule involved repeating the 5pm 'Hardball with Chris Matthews' at 7pm to catch WC viewers. Morning Joe often repeats entire segments from its 6am hour during the 8am hour for that same reason.

(All times are according to EST)

With Elizabeth joining this week, FOX & Friends also got a new set. Looks quite good, anything is better than that old mess they had. I especially like the sofa area, looks better than Today's.

Is Elizabeth Hasselbeck the new main female host of Fox and Friends now? Has she replaced Gretchen Carlson permanently?

Yes Gretchen is getting a new solo show in daytime.
Even by Fox standards this is a dumb show.

Is the hiring of Elizabeth Hasselbeck the equivalent of hiring Holly Willoughby on Sky News Sunrise?

An opinionated Holly Willoughby, perhaps. Elisabeth's certainly no journalist, and was best known as a reality TV contestant before joining The View.

In fact, would I be right in saying Gretchen was the only news journalist on the programme, as the other two have backgrounds in sport and weather?

Well if Holly was really ignorant and right wing. She is pretty much the US version of Katie Hopkins.
Like Katie she became famous for appearing on a reality show, 'Survivor'.

Steve definitely was a journalist but he just did the weather for the show at the start to cut costs. Brian was a sports anchor iirc
Not that you need to be a journalist for this ****. Even by Fox news standards it's utter tripe.

Goes live at 8pm UK time.

It may be Fox News but I can't help but be impressed by the concept - and excited at the Star Trek inspired studio!

There is also a video preview posted here, where Shep introduces some of the new technology; in particular, those 55 inch "BATs".

Those massive screens are ridiculous. Very cool, but ridiculous! Looks like an innovative set up.
