Anyone else suspect it will all be over and replaced with a news bulletin sometime late next year? There's no way this can compete with the likes of TOS.
Late this year I imagine - can't see it lasting beyond Christmas.

I can't see them axing it that quickly - surely people like Wright and Messenger will be on contract for a while, for example?
Honestly though I can see there being a time relatively soon where they give up entirely and move to just a reporter and green screen for all bulletins.
Which would be a huge shame considering "5 News" as it was back when it launched has actually been quite influential in how TV news was presented. It lost a lot though both since switching to Sky, and before that though interference from those within Five trying to make the channel something it wasn't.
Really though if they don't believe Five News is viable the viewer would be better served with a scheduled simulcast of Sky News (Sky News on Five), but Sky would need to commit to breaking into their channel to provide Five with the daily bulletin, or on days when other breaking news takes priority they would continue to produce the bulletin solely to air on Five.
This sounds like a bit of a nod towards Channel 5's launch schedule which had a couple of live magazine shows in it - Espresso in the mornings and Five's Company in the afternoons.
Wonder how it will work as it clearly isn't really a news show as such - wonder if there will be a new 5 news set on the other side of the studio or something....
