The male presenter will be the main anchor at 5pm, with the female presenter taking charge of the 7pm news. Full details will be at midnight, unless newspapers release online early.
Part of the reason why Five News at 7 does so poorly because its only 2 hours after the 5pm bulletin.
Am sure am not the only one that watches Channel 5 like this;
5pm News
5.30pm Neighbours
6.00pm I watch something else but plenty of people stay after Neighbours to watch Home & Away.
6.30pm Live From Studio Five (Half the audience leave after watching Home & Away)
They need to rig-jig the schedule & only have 1 news bulletin & have 5 minutes updates from 8pm like they used to do, I suggest either;
5pm - Live From Studio Five/OK!TV
5.30pm - Neighbours
6.00pm - Channel 5 News
6.30pm - Home & Away
7pm - Cowboy Builders/Monkey Business or something similar
OR
5pm Channel 5 News
5.30pm Neighbours
6.00pm Live From Studio Five/OK!TV
6.30pm Home & Away
7pm - Cowboy Builders/Monkey Business or something similar
OR if you have huge balls do this;
5pm Channel 5 News
5.30pm Neighbours
6pm Live From Studio Five/OK!TV
6.30pm - onwards : Cowboy Builders/Monkey Business or something similar
*Home & Away rates really well on FIVER so move it permanently there.
Express six minutes behind ATV (in Google News), what took them soo long.
Emma says on moving to Channel 5 News
Quote:
,“I am hugely excited about joining the team. From the outset, Channel 5 News have always enjoyed the reputation of offering viewers something a little bit different and I am over the moon to be a part of that. Matt and I studied at university together so I’m looking forward to the reunion too!”

6.00pm - Channel 5 News
So place it against two other news slots, where it would be surely the last choice behind BBC News and even the ITV Regional News.
There is a lot of news around that time, if ITV's news was still on at 5.30pm a Five News hour from 6.30-7.30 would I guess be the best option, but ITV needs to cut right back first on what its offering as far as news goes in that slot before '5' had any chance of making it an option for people to turn to at 6.30.
Since Desmond seems to think the channel was best at launch, please can the news go back to being the fast-paced, get you the facts style bulletin that ITN used to provide rather than the smiling woman and a cup of tea format Sky do at the moment?

Normally its just a filler like Animal Rescue Squad, Zoo Days to name two programmes theres a cooking programme and Julia Bradbury presents another programme that is used in that time as well.
