I think she could end up sharing C4 News with John Snow with him in his twilight of his broadcasting they could do 2/3 days a week each.

Laughing Not in a million years!

Nor a billion years.

Channel 4 News would rather have someone more heavyweight.

And I don't mean Fearne Cotton.

Fearne Cotton. Good one.

There is also the option to 'Pursue other projects for five ' Or if she wants a role on sky news Saturday Live and NSW 2-5 Saturday both are with out a full time presenter , she could go out of newsreading and turn full time TV Presenting and a wildcard option is a return to the BBC maybe some radio deal and occasional role on the News Channel or she might just pack it all in to spend more time with her family.

I doubt this would happen but say if ITV News were to take her on for the 1:30 Programme in instead of Al and James.

Are you on crack? Shocked

Newsreader Barbie is way too lightweight for C4 News. If she joined Newsround they'd be 'dumbing down'. She's irritated the hell out of me ever since being on the sofa with Dermot and she used to do that Princess Diana thing, dipping her head down and looking up and simpering at Dermot through her eyelashes when he was talking. Yuck!

If she joined C4 News I wouldn't watch it, it's as simple as that. But C4 News is not obsessed with celebrity presenters and doesn't chase the ratings by hiring on screen celebrity 'talent' they hire decent journalists, not simpering, pouting Barbies, so I don't think there's any danger of her joining C4 News, which seems to spend money on journalism instead of over-inflated salaries for over-inflated egos.

Ginofish doesn't seem to think through his arguments. Similarly if he thinks Natasha would move to Sky or ITV as a weekend presenter he's being ridiculous. I think, unless a high-profile position happens to become available, Natasha will end up not working, in a non-news position or presenting as part of a rejigged Sky News (as a main presenter). I also can't see her working on other Five projects, given she's actually employed by BSkyB and actually has made few appearances (if any) on Five outside of news.

do we know on any word for miss kaplinsky's replacement I would like to see Matt Barbet get the full time role as he is a real talent and a very strong newsreader with plenty of experience he’s covered lots on five from travelling to hati to presenting coverage of the election and 'hung 'live on location

Well I think they need to decide which direction five news is going to go in first, there are very strong rumours of it being more showbiz orientated.

That's just stupid people don't turn on five news to get showbiz they tune in for a good newspaper covering a mass amount of issues. if desmond wants viewers he should be investing in rivaling ITV and BBC . maybe introducing a new set putting in a desk with chairs and they could make the 7pm a flagship programme make it double-headed etc. Matt could present the 5pm programme and co-present the 7pm with someone that's talented , popular and has Journlistic experience also they should cover the big events bit better like special coverage of the Budget .

A revamped reporting team could be in good order my idea:

Chief correspondent: Jonathon Samuels
Political Editor: Andy Bell
International Affairs correspondent: Julian Manyon
Economics Editor: Mark Eddo.
Entertainment correspondent: Minnie Stephenson.
Sports Editor: Jonas Hurst
Features correspondent: Ruth Liptrot
UK Editor: Jason Farrell
Royal Correspondent: Simon Vigar.
Crime Correspondent: Jane Dougall
North Correspondent: Peter Lane
South Correspondent: Leyla Hayes
News Correspondent: Sarah Elliot
News correspondent : Richard Suchet
News Correspondent: Catharine Jones
Updates Presenter 1: Phil Gayle
Update Presenter 2: Polly Whitehouse.

I'd love for five to ask Sky to redesign their news output & to try & recreate the style, and atmosphere of the original five news.

The idea of seeing the programme come live from a newsroom excites me. It's what made their news original & unique, meaning that everybody else followed. Just because everybody seems to be returning to sitting down, desk presenting, why does Five News have to follow?

I wonder if Sky News would have someway of implementing Five News into a lesser shown part of their newsroom, and be able to transmit from their routing through another gallery.

Do you really think people tune in to Five news for a good newspaper covering a mass amount of issues? Shocked Laughing

Did you miss the bit about Five being bought out by Richard Desmond, owner of Daily Express, Daily Star, OK! and 'adult entertainment' channels?

Serious quality journalism isn't his forte.
