"The daily news bulletin will also be shifted by half an hour and the 7.30pm slot will become a male-skewing slot with shows such as Guinea Pigs, Fifth Gear and US acquisition K-Ville." Lisa Opie, speaking to Broadcast Magazine.
I am guessing that the schedule is going to look a little like this..I think having a news bulletin at 5 is simply too early in the day
5:00 five news
5:30 Neighbours
6:00 Home and Away
6:30 American Filler
7:00 five news
7:30 male stuff
There will definatly be an Australian hour, but that doesnt mean 6pm - 7pm, i think Five should stick Neighbours on at 5.30pm if they want to try and attract the same people who watched it on BBC One.
Do you really think that five would put their prize programme up against Hollyoaks...I would have thought they would keep it in a slot that it has been for decades.
They did promise them that slot, however I'm guessing five will probably move it to midnight saying its not commercially viable, much like C4 did when they couldn't be bothered anymore.
It caught me out as I was half listening to her final words , this was a less dramatic departure and event than say when Five News left ITN and went over to sky. Plenty of tears and goodbyes that evening.
The time was right though , her presentation , her demeanour has been less than great for a long time.
So Kirsty's gone, who's going to fill the gap and take her place ?
