Five have lost that knack of hiring good or promising presenters, can't Sky pull the presenters like ITN used to. Sky love bbc ldn staff don't t they , how many have they hired from there in the last 2 or 3 years ?

KY's around less and less in recent weeks, five seem to be making her exit a gentle one.

I wonder where Matt Barbett will go, in for the mornings like Rob Butler used to do. He might be on in the latter part of the week or even do the small shows on the weekend.

What do you think they will do with Kate Gerbeau then?

Stay doing the lunchtime show as she does at the moment one would presume...

I would hope she would get a shot on the evening bulletins as she is not exposed enough by five. She is a great presenter IMO. I wonder if Matt Barbet would take her place or if he would become the weekend presenter?

Im guessing Matt's replacement at BBC London would be more of Louisa Preston or the Lovely Victoria Hollins

At a guess, Matt will probably host the Sunday bulletin which is hosted by Asha Tanna, while she moves to Saturdays which is currently Helen Fospero.

Hmmm , I was giving that some thought on the way home. Really I'd expect Kate Gerbeau to receive the promotion to the evening shows. It doesn't look too good if she wants that and doesn't get it . That's why Charlie Stayt left Five news when he didn't get that promotion.

Would Helen and Matt in the mornings and Kate and John later in the day be the way forward for Five News ?

Remember that Five's 11.30 bulletin is more lifestyle orientated.

Yeah - and I think that is why it is not a great bulletin for a presenter to climb the ladder. Kate is not utilising her excellent journalism skills on this particular show.

Although as part of the revamp in the new year, it is still not known when the news will sit, it could become part of a revamped daytime schedual with the arrival of Neighbours next year, therefore, if the 11.30 programme moves to something like 12.30, it may have its content revised due to the audience being slightly different, it never has made sense to me haveing the lunchtime five news bulletin on at 11.30, although this is all just a thought and not fact, but we already know that the daytime schedual will recieve a shake-up as well as five news, could they be linked?
