I'm surprised they've opted for a full half hour bulletin before Neighbours really - I'd have thought with the 7pm edition being restored to half an hour, they'd have just gone for a 15-minute bulletin before Neighbours, which IMO would actually be better.
Neighbours viewers aren't going to tune in for a full half hour bulletin before the show, but they could capture an audience with a shorter bulletin.

I suspect the background in the picture is blue screen as they were filming at Teddington studios. I wonder if Five are using Natasha Kaplinsky to promote the new look Five and schedule rather than just Five News.
I know that when Five cut the 7pm news to 15 minutes in 2005 they had to get permission from Ofcom so maybe they tried again but were unsuccessful.

She talks about a new set (being built at the mo!), a new relaxed approach (casual dress) and that they will be basing the show on a amercan network show (thats where natasha has been to do her research!)

Sounds interesting. So will the 11.30 programme remain at that time and will it be called Five News with Kate Gerbeau? Perhaps, Natasha will be the only one that merits her name being in the programme itself?
I also wonder if the 5pm set will be used for the 11.30 programme and updates?
