I can recall Alistair Stewart involved with ITN General Election coverage on 1992. He was in the virtual House of Commons telling viewers where the MPs would be placed. When did ITN move to their current studios on Grays Inn Road - 1992?
I caught most of the 5.30pm edition, but I forgot he started to present today. Otherwise it was good to see him back on screen and you could tell that he was glad to be back, plus he added some much needed flavour to the programme, plus he still kept his authority, and to be fair to Sky News for once the content of tonight's show wasn't too bad, whenever I usually put it on, it's has loads of rubbish stories and silly stories.
I found what he wrote about ITN/ITV News quite interesting. Quite true though.

Do you consult any media sources during the working day?
I'm a devotee of 24-hour news channels; I think they are the future of television. Sky is on in our home almost all day long, certainly on the hour.
The demise of the ITV News Channel is so sad. ITN was one of the world's great news organisations - I gave it 32 years of my life - and its tragedy from the late Nineties has been the channel that it's on, ITV. ITN doesn't exist anymore, it's ITV News, and it shows.
I will be pilloried for this but my newspaper of choice is the Daily Mail. Not for its politics, which don't matter to me, but it's the perfect mixture of news and gossip.[/i]
