You know, Moz, something tells me that even if Five had come out with a studio that everyone adored, you'd still be telling us how much you hated it.

I'm sure if it were on News 24 you'd absolutely love it.

As for the Sky studio, we've already been told it won't look anything like it, and the artists' impressions certainly suggest that.

But as its Jack Morton again, I imagine it would follow the same 'Morton' rules. Like random staircases, plasmas and circular raised areas.

Hopefully we will be spared the toothy blonde trollops that infect the MSNBC studio, though.

I turned on the other day and it looked like a Nivea advert.

cat, what can I say. I don't like the five news set and it's nothing to do with it being five news. Am I supposed to lie?

I praised the last redesign of five news (in particular the music) and I used to hate the drab old News 24 studio. I like the new one but think it is a tad small and the camera angles need to be more exciting. The Sky News set is a bit all over the place, and I think the itv news set is quite good and well used.

I am not biaised towards BBC News 24, though it may be that Lambie-Bairn's tastes and mine overlap more than the designer who did the five set.

Both the current News 24 and ITV News sets are by Simon Jago.

Its always women presenting as well...they must have sacked all the men. The MSNBC set is looking dated these days.

What, the point that you didn't know who designed the sets?

Yep, I suppose. That I judge whether I like sets or not on whether I like them or not, not on who designed them or what channel they are on.

Wouldn't say it was looking dated, I still think it looks stunning - likewise for the CNN Domestic Atlanta studio. But some of the backdrops they use (basically walls with flat pictures on them) are rubbish. They also don't use it as well as they used to. There was a time when they would take advantage of the second level of the studio, presenting from the stairs and doing news updates from a balcony... didn't add anything to the news, but looked great. That's gone now.

It seems a bit strange that the choice of colours for the new set has caused so much controversy when this set has always been quite popular in these parts...
