Apologies for the fuzzyness, it was the best picture signal, I could get.

Here the first update comes..... oooooo i cant wait.... Laughing purple though... i hope sky news dont go that way ....

Did you touch yourself inappropriatly just beforehand?

Oh do go away.

You haven't added anything with that little remark, you're just stirring it up and it's totally unnecessary.

ON THE SUBJECT OF THE THREAD: I thought it looked really impressive. Titles were nice, music a bit soft, and the set looked really impressive. Top marks for the ticker that actually ran to the time of the bulletin and managed to fit in the footie scores on the way.

For some bizarre reason, all the colours reminded me of Central News blocks era from the late 90s.

Very nice.

I've changed my mind, it was Martin touching himself ...

You're only jealous because it's better than the Points West studio. Laughing Wink

Lovely to see 16:9 as well - don't think I've ever seen pictures so crisp from Sky.

that ticker looked trashy, like something off bid-up tv.
studio looked good, at least what we saw of it.

What is funny about it... you're just dragging the discussion down a totally irrelevant and unwanted route. If you want to insult someone for absolutely no reason whatsoever, don't subject the rest of it to us.

Hahah .. yes.

I thought it looked okay. The colours worked for me - much more so than the Channel 4 News relaunch - and the titles seemed to be pretty decent.

I'm not so sure about the ticker at the bottom - a little big for my liking, and could do with being pushed down slightly.

Pictures were crisp, yes, but I would expect nothing less from a studio that has been built from scratch.

I don't think I quite like it as much as Martin, but it's much, much better than the last ITN incarnation.

I assume it was a CSO shot tonight? I can't see Kirsty standing in that big old empty studio by herself.

No that was the real thing, there's more space on the lower level, and the "clever glass" from 98-01 is back as well....

Oh get lost. If you can't enjoy a joke then what is the world coming to.

It looked real rather than CSO to me but I may be wrong
it also has a sense of the updates being done on a top level with the main studio below - it looks like a big plasma screen in the shot bhind Kirsty. Bit like the BBC One updates during the day are done from the balcony shot (even if that is CSO).
There is no way that Sky will let it look crap - they have too much riding on it.
