I couldn't find the original thread so here's a new one...

Going back to Five and Sky News - I was wondering whether there has been any sort of update on what's happening with that? Does anyone know when Sky News will take over from ITN?

Sky are taking over on 1st January, as that is when ITN's contract will have run out.

I wonder if it will be similar to Sky News theme, that would be quite nice. Does Sky News have a brand new look at the same time, or is the new building they took over just to house a studio for five News ?

Does no one like the music on five news. All the other music is quite basic and the same. I think this gives it more of a different feel to it. I say SKY News will change at the same time cos they are ment to move into a new unit at the Sky Centre around then. Sadly i cant get five so i dont know why i bother commenting!!!!

I like the piece of music itself, but don't like the fact that it's used on a news programme, as it's so "un-newsy". It belongs on a "high-brow" arty-farty type programme.

The music is fabulous. It makes the programme feel important and that's how a news programme should be.

I agree, I am a fan of the classical music for the news. I loved the 1993-1999 BBC News themes.
