One thing I have noticed, not only in France, but other French-speaking countries too, is that the dress code for newsreaders is certainly not as strict as it is here in Britain. I have seen male newsreaders without ties and the top button open on the shirt, and the females, with regard to the above photo, do not always wear suits etc. Just a small observation, but an interesting one.

News 24 originally launched with a very relaxed dress code - which tied in with the original intention of being like Five Live on the telly. Shirtsleeves and ties were the order of the day for most male presenters - Matthew used to wear a waistcoat, and Christopher Price (when he was also a newsreader - before Zero 30 when he specialised as an entertainment news presenter) presented without a tie ISTR.

This style was dropped when the studio moved to the current position in the News Centre - and jackets and a more traditional style were introduced. It was what the public wanted a BBC news channel presenter to be wearing it seemed. The shirtsleeve model was deemed too lightweight...

That's true - and it depends on the time of day, too.

For example, at weekends on TF1 and France 2, the same person presents the lunchtime and evening programmes (usually Claire Chazal and Beatrice Schonberg respectively). They'll normally dress fairly casually for the lunchtime programme, but change into something smarter for the evening bulletin.

Exactly.
I remember that the female presenters of LCI, were wearing some Summer clothes, like the pic, very relaxed clothe, sometines not elegant... LCI is a very cool broadcasting channel, and very very cool in the summer !
