Anything that comes out of the ITV press office should be taken with a pinch of salt! The people working at ITV generally know nothing about the programmes people enquire about (unless of course its the basic like Corrie or Emmerdale) - its like drawing teeth to get a decent answer out of them most of the time. Im surprised anyone took the suggestion of having news on ITV2/3 seriously - it was clearly a bare faced lie to keep the unions happy when the NC closed.

It's more likely that the duty office simply doesn't have a clue what it's talking about.
Who'd want to work in the duty office of any broadcaster anyway? You'd spend all your time dealing with emails from loonies and Digital Spy users with too much time on their hands.
