Pretty crap trail - looks like a rush job. As Mark and Mary haven't been working on the same days this week, they don't appear together in the trail. And the bit with Mary is in the virtual studio:

Good idea though. I never understood why they followed the Evening News with Joyce Ohajah. A prime cross-promotion opportunity, and it's followed by one of the worst presenters on any national news service.

Bandwagon anyone?
From that last still you might think that ITV learned of BBC's plans earlier this week and have hastily copied the idea and quickly made a promo.

It says they will be calling on ITV's correspondents around the world for "special reports".
There will also be "the picture of the day - uncut" whatever that means, and there'll be a phone-in about the stories of the day.
Lunchtime news meets 6.30 news..... great

Does the promo give any hint to the content?

Just wondering, is there any point of having this?? Like who watched the ITV News Channel? They are rather unreliable to be honest. I would choose Sky, BBC and to a lesser extent CNN.
If that picture that says EVENING NEWS EXTRA, is the logo, it looks rubbish!!!

It would be good if they did a similar thing with the Lunchtime News and got Nick and Nina to present on the News Channel till 2.
After all, the management used to like to boast that the NC used big-name ITV1 presenters, but apart from simulcasts, Nick and Nina don't appear on the channel at all any more.

Very unlikely. It takes a bit longer than that to plan and put together a television programme - although I agree that the 'rush job' of the promo might lead you to that conclusion!
