Must have been a very complex operation to provide simultaneous translations - I assume the European Parliament, having legions of translators already in situ, were used to provide this for the EBU?

I imagine no more complicated than the daily operation of translating most EU things into around 25 languages!

The name of the co-presenter from RTE is Conor McNally from news2day which is broadcast on RTE Two every weekday.

I had missed the debate but I did see a report about it on RTE's Nine O'Clock News. It showed a clip of Conor at the very start of the debate. But it didn't show him asking any questions to the candidates which I thought was a strange move considering that he is a co-presenter and from Ireland.

No, Conor seemed more in charge on linking between the debate and the Social Media Hub... The person chairing the debate and asking the questions was Monica Maggioni, an Italian journalist who is director of RAI News 24.

He presents news2day, which is TRTÉ's version of Newsround. Most Irish people watching the debate - if *anyone* was watching the debate!!!! - wouldn't have even heard of him.
