This is actually pretty off for us in the UK as we used to have a NBC channel but it was closed in 1998. The only remaining NBC branded channel we have is CNBC. Who knows if this branding is going to come over here.

Here's an article from the Hollywood Reporter about it. Essentially, the NBC deal has finally closed, paving the way for integration between the two. NBC execs talk in here about how, for instance, Euronews correspondents will appear on MSNBC during breaking news coverage and vice versa.
And here's an article from L'Express with more detail in French. To summarize: Euronews is in the midst of the "Next" strategy, which includes the opening of more bureaux and correspondents in European capitals, the creation of morning and late evening newscasts, more in-vision presenters, more talk/debate shows, more emphasis on digital, some staff shakeup, and closure of the Ukrainian service. The article also talks about how part of the holdup on the deal was that NBC had to guarantee EU suits in Brussels that they would not "Americanize" the channel. NBC still does not have final editorial control over Euronews. That remains with Euronews, and headquarters will stay in Lyon. The closure of the deal also means that the EBU broadcasters' stake in Euronews has been reduced from 47% to 15%, with Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris owning 60%, and NBC the remaining 25%.

So long as the quality stays the same or improves, and the NBC branding isn't taken overboard, then I'm happy.

I like this logo that was used when the ownership stake was announced. It fits the COMCAST NBCUNIVERSAL logo and will be much easier to use on air. But I got to ask will this cause them to withdraw their partnership* with ITN?
*One prolific NBC News online producer and journalist in London described it to me as more of an office sharing agreement.

Interestingly that logo is the 1986 NBC logo while the one in nw2003's post is the "modern" version. I mention that only to say that NBC News always uses the old one - even to the point of having relatively recently launched new NBC Nightly News titles with the older version.

I haven't paid too much attention to Euronews, but the geoblock has been lifted for all the YouTube streams in the U.S. on AppleTV, so I can now watch it like any other channel on my TV.
Anyway, it looks like NBC and Euronews are already sharing content. The stories that Euronews is currently running this hour about Harvey Weinstin and the California fires are the same exact ones that were available for NBC affiliates to use tonight. They didn't include the reporters' standups (which are optional anyway), but both of them include the reporters' "NBC News" tag outs.
There's also now a lot of material in NBC's affiliate wire service with "EBU" marked as the source.
