MSNBC International?

That ship sailed long ago and frankly if they'd actually wanted to have done that, it would have already happened. But the closing of NBC Europe, formerly NBC Super Channel, in 1998 put pay to those plans.

There were earnest plans to distribute MSNBC internationally or to create a separate international channel way back when Microsoft still owned 50% of MSNBC. I don't think it ever got beyond being added to a cable system in Israel, and all of this is about 15 management teams ago, i.e. meaningless today. The low international exposure to NBC, aside from CNBC, is one of the key drivers of this Euronews deal. Even Fox News has more international cable carriage, not even to say anything of Sky's worldwide footprint.

MSNBC has become more and more obsessed with US Politics and is likely to continue that way. Very little international news gets coverage on the channel now, so an international version would have to be a standalone which will never happen. With only a 25% stake in Euronews I think little will change except for some resources which NBC News could bring to Euronews. Given what Comcast has done to CNBC internationally, this would be just as well.

They always have been after all their slogan is The place for politics . To be honest I think with all the tension going on with the new administration viewers would turn away if they weren't covering all these latest controversies.

Euronews has commenced broadcasting localised versions of the channel - replacing the old single video feed & multiple soundtracks with single-language versions able to show different content. What Eurosport started to do nearly 20 years ago...
I've outlined some of the changes here: http://www.a516digital.com/2017/05/euronews-splits-up.html

Zattoo Switzerland's Euronews streams have issues. The French stream is now Euronews English. No change to Euronews English.

Might be getting their feed from Hot Bird: most of the sound tracks on the former multi-lingual feed have switched to English. The Astra 1 feed is now Euronews French.

So they want to get rid of most of their German viewers?

That's a shame, I often watch Euronews in French to help with language learning. Now all I have is TV5Monde

I would love to see it as well, but I'm also having problems finding any Euronews stream not in English. Most of the official (or official-looking) streams are still geoblocked in the US, even the English stream, but even when I've been able to load some streams that should be showing Euronews in French, I either don't get anything, or I get the English feed. I'd be interested to see how they've modified the graphics, if at all, for the other languages, especially ones not using the Latin alphabet.

The streams for France 24 and Franceinfo: are still very easy to find, among some others. I don't think they're geoblocked anywhere.

Ditto with Spanish, although it's a long time since TVE International left DSat in the UK.
