Just did a quick search and nothing came up so appologies if this has already been discussed.
I just saw a countdown on Euronews saying "-8 days" and then "Everything is changing, 04/06/08 2000 CET". I'd presume this is simply refreshing graphics but by
everything
changing I wonder if we could see a format change of some sort. Whatever happens I do hope they keep No Comment.
No Comment is indeed a great feature -and since it's only a couple of minutes per hour it doesn't make you "guess the news".
Also, I like it when they use No Comment during extended coverage: I remember watching many events without commentary, often so much better than hearing someone making useless commentary and basically just describing what everyone can see like many channels do.
A great boost for Euronews would be a studio and a presenter -at least for a few hours every day- but given that it's a multi-language channel I can't imagine how that could happen.
It seems to me France 24 drew a lot of its inspiration from EuroNews. Of course, EuroNews does not have any in-vision presenters and broadcasts more languages than the other, but they follow the same scheduling - news for the first 10 minutes, then magazines to follow.
Well, another improvement in my opinion would be a few 30 mins news bulletins throughout the day... although those 10 mins editions are always well-structured I think some longer versions would provide a more informative and global view.

Other news channels do offer an interactive no commentary stream. It's accessible via the Mute button on your remote.
Euronews hasn't had anything major in terms of a rebrand in years. Yes there have been incremental changes to music and graphics, but the channel has overall had the same look for, oh, must be about ten years now. That's a long time these days, so a new look would be nice.
One wierd thing about Euronews is how it use to close down at 02:00 till about 06:00, which for a largely automated news channel seemed superflous. At closedown you got a presentation treat - a few seconds from every Euronews ident, accompanied for some reason by the ITN Early Evening News music from the early 1990s!

Why are you being so facetious about this? No Comment is a very clever and powerful way of putting across the news. I've never heard anyone say a bad word about it.

Was this during the era that ITN owned Euronews (or a large chunk of it)?
