The Euronews threads always seem to slither away. Am I the only one who watches this channel? I guess I wouldn't be surprised.

Anyway... Euronews moved into their new building in the Confluence quarter of Lyon on Thursday. I honestly had no idea they hadn't moved already as that building has been completed for some time, and it looked like it was occupied when I walked by it this summer. The move doesn't really affect the on-air product really, though they do have a new, small, and non-virtual studio for some of their feature programs (Business Middle East, Sports features, and uh, whatever that tech show is). You can see it here:

They were also Periscoping the new building on Thursday, showing some really unique looks into how all the languages come together. Most of the Periscopes seem to have expired, though this one did record. It's worth a look:

Something I found interesting that I took away from it is that they don't write the story immediately and then directly translate it — rather, the video is edited and the journalists write their own script and fit it to the allotted time.

Wow. That is one impressive looking building. However I think the novelty will wear off fast.

Or get covered in tonnes of pigeon cack, rather like the Pompidou Centre in Paris

Gorgeous building - plus the waste of a rather nice set on a channel that doesn't really use them.

If you didn't get enough of it, to the north is the Orange Cube building. It houses a design firm and some cultural offices. I guess the exterior metalwork of both buildings can also light up in different patterns, presumably for the big Fête des Lumieres in December.

The museum to the south of the Euronews building is also most unusual. Some pretty weird and incongruous architecture for an otherwise really gorgeous city.

Makes me wonder if they are going to continue with the different colored buildings. It reminds me of the Pacific Design Center.
