Don't know whether this just happened today or in the past while, as I don't watch the channel all that much, but Euronews appears to have been given its first makeover in a very long time, with a new DOG, new transitions, and other presentation changes (though the logo and astons are still pretty much the same). Anyone any ideas when the changes came in and what do people think?
Euronews is a news channel which doesn't have presenters or on-screen reporters - instead, the pictures are dubbed over in several different languages. I've always assumed they just use agency pictures.
As an aside, I've noticed that on NTL, Euronews now has a red-button feature where you can change the language - it used to be only available in English. Is it like this on Sky too?
What IS Euronews? Where do the reports come from? Do they have their own reporters? It's always confused me.
EuroNews AIUI is ran by about 20 different TV broadcasters from Europe, so they tend to use their footage, or if not probably someone else like Reuters, it does say on their website somewhere. They seem to have no-one to back on in the UK, ITN used to be a major player within EN, but they disposed of their share. RTÉ I believe is a shareholder within it aswell.
I don't watch it that often, but it makes a good balanced alternative to other News channels. I've had a flick through the Language option, I think NTL provide English, French, German and Spanish, though Worldwide there are more Languages available.

I haven't watched it for ages but it used to be the case that you could change the language EuroNews was received in by changing the language settings in the Sky menus. It was (AFAIK) the only channel with multi-lingual audio. Some languages weren't available (Welsh for example) but it was mildly entertaining to listen to it in German or Portuguese.
NTL Ireland doesn't offer a red button option (but it doesn't for ANY channel), we instead get Euronews English on #203 with the other news channels, but the alternative language options are on seperate channels in the 800s.
It's a wonder actually that S4C have never teamed up with Euronews - it be a very cheap way of launching a 24-hour Welsh news channel (probably with virtually no content from Wales though!).
Is there just one video feed then across Europe, or are some versions localised to include more local content?

A lot of EuroNews UK news output still comes from ITN.
