Are the ITV Regions opting out of the main network programme every so often to get local updates from their area? Only reason I'm asking is that STV is opting out now and then and going to Bernard Ponsonby for Scottish updates...

I'm very surprised CNBC have gone to so much effort, especially now after the European Markets have closed. It would have been a lot easier to air some recorded shows in the UK/Ireland (or all of Europe if required, but CNBC used to have a UK/Ireland opt) with market updates in between.

What did they do while the European markets were open - was coverage from London (as it would have been in the past) or from New Jersey? CNBC Europe has suffered death by a thousand cuts over the last few years and effectively shuts up shop and hands over to the US at 10:00am these days.

Meanwhile, Sky News having to remind nearly every guest that the moriatorium remains in place until 10:00pm. Why didn't they just wait until then to start?

RTE have Brian Dobson live at Westminster for their coverage of the EU Referendum on the Six-One News. RTE's London Correspondent Fiona Mitchell was there giving updates to Brian a short time ago.

There will also be a special 10 minute bulletin giving news of the result on RTE One & RTE News Now from 9am tomorrow morning.

That's actually a little disappointing all told. I was expecting Ireland to take more interest in the story, as it effects them more than a UK General Election does. I had been thinking they might do some overnight coverage, but apparently not.

I guess that it's because the action doesn't really start till the early hours of the morning and there isn't much to report on until then. I did think it was bad form of RTE at first, but you can be sure that if the vote is for Brexit it will dominate RTE News tomorrow and I wouldn't be surprised to see extended coverage at that point.

Every house in the country with a TV will have access to ITV's coverage anyway, and the vast majority will have access to the BBC and Sky too. TV3 is running a 90 min Vincent Browne special too.

I only saw the post European close coverage I'm afraid, but I doubt London could have done more than a couple of extra hours due to those cuts. Interestingly the coverage I saw from New Jersey included some of the CNBC's biggest 'names' - Becky Quick, Carl Quintanilla

Looks like RTL Z in the Netherlands are showing the referendum results through out the night as well with Paul van Liempt...
