France 24 are supposedly ignoring the rules and broadcasting full analysis to UK viewers

Are they even licensed by Ofcom? As far as I know, a broadcaster can be licensed in any EU country and broadcast to another without needing to be licensed there as well.

CNBC are showing alternative programming for the international markets today due to UK laws. None of the normal US programming is being shown;

US programming seems to still be broadcasting in the US, screengrab from squawk earlier:

So all of Europe is being deprived of today's coverage because of UK laws? Couldn't they have split the feeds somehow to avoid Ofcom's wrath?

Sure, that's totally possible without any knowledge of any of these networks' transmission chains.

Out of interest, does anyone know if there a list of non-UK channels that are licensed/registered with Ofcom? I couldn't find anything after a search of their website, but I do know there are several channels -- particularly those broadcasting to Scandinavia -- that "originate" from the UK.

I thought the version of CNBC on Sky and Freesat was a UK only variant, and the rest of Europe got a different feed.

That's my assumption too as I watched the pan European version on Zattoo Switzerland which had a live from London which was fully compliant with Ofcom rules. My guess is CNBC don't want to take the risk that one of the American anchors breaches the regulations.

Posted this in the News at Ten thread but I'll post it in here as well. Preview of ITV's titles and set tomorrow:

Could ITV not get anymore sterile?

BBC's coverage looking good. Emily Maitlis is a great asset, too.

I'm very surprised CNBC have gone to so much effort, especially now after the European Markets have closed. It would have been a lot easier to air some recorded shows in the UK/Ireland (or all of Europe if required, but CNBC used to have a UK/Ireland opt) with market updates in between.

RTE have Brian Dobson live at Westminster for their coverage of the EU Referendum on the Six-One News. RTE's London Correspondent Fiona Mitchell was there giving updates to Brian a short time ago.

There will also be a special 10 minute bulletin giving news of the result on RTE One & RTE News Now from 9am tomorrow morning.

That's actually a little disappointing all told. I was expecting Ireland to take more interest in the story, as it effects them more than a UK General Election does. I had been thinking they might do some overnight coverage, but apparently not.

Just noticed, no overnight coverage on RTE Radio either but Morning Ireland comes on early tomorrow morning at 6am, so I would expect that to be simulcast in full on RTE News Now.
