well im thinking they may of changed the times to allow the bbc1 anchors to do a bit on news 24. therefore

2-4 natasha/george or whoever does the 6
4-7 jon/louise
7-10 emily/ ben
10-1 chris

So just how many presenters do Newsnight require?

Surely Paxman as main host with Kirsty as regular cover and Gavin Esler to cover when Kirsty can't is sufficient!


Also, will this mean the end of News 24 Tonight?


And finally, something I'd always assumed (but with no real justification) is that ratings for news channels would actually be lower in primetime in the face of more competition from the peaktime schedules and the terrestrial news bulletins.

But! I have heard from a few reliable sources that there's also very big surprise coming...

A single-headed programme fronted by a household name from a national TV bulletin. If the name I've heard is correct - it will be a massive coup. Firsly it'll totally thump Sky News in what is possibly their prime timeslot but also give a massive boost to News 24.

And apparently - according to the Chinese whispers - we're not talking about B-list presenter here (Alagiah, Darren Jordan, Sophie Raworth etc). Think bigger.

... Will have to wait and see!

Harvey, I doubt - and Moira - hardly A-list. But, let speculation begin anyway!
