This must be some national event that i have missed. Then again no one i know cares. How much of the Ten has been dropped?

Regional opt shortened, cancelled or rest of evening's schedule postponed do we reckon?

What a mess News 24's graphics are.

We have a simulcast with BBC1 so the tower has gone. Yet the Breaking News banner is up.

...and the tower is back. Hmmmm....

Oh.

She has still got 100 miles to go.

So she hasn't really finished at all.

Great.

Yes. That got me as well about 45 minutes ago, when I realised all I would be seeing was the white dot.

We appear to have entered distinctly rolling-news territory on the Ten now. Surely 24 should be doing this....

It'd be awful if she hit an iceberg or something on the way home.

On ITV Mark Austin hasn't even hung around to present for the 10.30. Sums it up really.

haha. Chris Eakin to crowd:
"Let's get some reaction. Where are you all from?"

"Falmouth!"

I also find it quite amusing the way ITV led with it and still managed to miss pretty much everything. And the Ten won't finish much before 11 at this rate.

Dont worry im sure they'll make up for it on tomorrows lunchtime news- its the type of story they LOVE. They'll probably do a reconstruction and have Andrea Catherwood sitting in a boat in the virtual studio. Or better still get the cast of Dead Ringers in for some lunchtime analysis.

I can't get excited about this.

Same here, personally the woman irritates me. It's good she's broken the record or whatever it is, but I don't believe that such media attention is required. For crying out loud it's made the Regional News go out at 10.45 on BBC1 and makes it the top story on ITV News at 10:30, as soon as I saw that as the top story I turned over. I just don't find it exciting or important.
