At least 20 Satellite trucks are in position in Falmouth (six miles down the road from me) Be prepared for a news blitz from around 2100 tonight.

Theres a Satellite Video Phone on her support vessel that'll be used when she crosses the line at Ushant probably around 2300 tonight.

She's currently got 75 miles to go.

Gridlock on the roads is also expected tomorrow and Falmouth is likely to be under siege.

Good fun.

No youre not - im sick of hearing about it! Its a fantastic personal achievement for HER, but how does it impact the lives of the rest of us?? To me, this isnt proper 'news' and should only occupy the and finally slot on the bulletins, and it certainly doesnt warrant its own BBC news special! I could understand if this was the first time anyone had ever sailed around the world and made some fantastic discovery on their way, but the truth is this has been done many timrs before, and the record shes supposed to beat is only going to be by a matter of a few hours.

So what have you ever achieved that is so great then?

There aren't that many people who have sailed around the world, let alone done it in a record time (it's only the 3rd time the record has ever been broken), and the first time a 28 year old or a woman has done it.

There's lots of things that get coverage in the media that don't have an effect on my life - look at the amount of coverage football/footballers/footballers stupidity gets every week and explain to me what that has to do with me.

And I'd much rather see some good news on the TV rather than endless coverage of people blowing each other up

That doesn't fall under "good"? C'mon people! We, as British people, don't do well at much, we might as well celebrate the rare occasions that we do!

I'm sorry, but I stick to my personal view that I have NO time for her. Its all just for herself! Mad

I'm all for as much coverage as possible of this! What's wrong with a good news story now & again, and it's only a bit of fun - as well as being an incredible achievement of science & sport.

Well done (touch wood) Ellen. You show those Frenchies who rules the waves!

Just hope she doesn't cross the line b4 24 finishes on Sky One!
