I'm a fan of Questy so for me it's an additional bonus he's presenting first 4 hours of their coverage. From what I saw, Hala will present from 18.00 til 20.00 cet and Amanpour will have a full hour at 21.00 cet. After that they'll join CNN US.

I quite like Questy too. Jonathan Mann and Michael Holmes now on CNNI. Jonathan Mann appears to be their Jeremy Vine, albeit only with a plasma.

The CNN coverage I've watched so far seems quite good. BBC a wee bit dull so far.

Yes although the boss of NBC is currently trying to tank the network to get Kabletown to sell so it might be a carcrash like Homonym.

wtf. I didn’t realise it was back, and I’ve missed 5 eps already… ! Thanks for the slightly obscure heads-up.

As already mentioned in this thread, for Breakfast, Bill is in Washington. A Daybreak promo has been airing recently on ITV with Lucy, Ross, Bill Neeley and Robert Moore for an election special tomorrow and Sunrise, tomorrow, is billed as US Election Sunrise, live from Chicago and Boston.

Strange that the BBC News Channel is putting out a trailer for the US Election coverage "on BBC One" when it will be simulcast on the NC - no need to switch over.

Of course I doubt the BBC care which of their channels it's on

Right I'm confused...ish

I know that everyone votes in the election, but what are these Electoral College Votes that all the news channels seem to be talking about?

it is so that the larger states don't have an unfair advantage - so the smaller states don't miss out.
Basically, each state gets a certain number of votes. Instead of voting for the President direct (like we vote for a party in the UK) voters vote for someone who pledge to vote for a certain person.

That is why in 2000 there was a difference, the popular vote - who you or I would vote for voted differently from the electoral college vote.

Some states make voting for someone who you did not say you were voting for illegal but others do not.

Also, the popular vote doesn't really count - it all comes down to the electoral college votes.

The idea came from Greece when groups of 100 elected someone to vote on your behalf.
