Here, have another ghetto screengrab, which may answer some of the previous questions, but will most likely raise several more.

Looks much neater! Hopefully they'll animate a lot like the last set of local elections. I assume lower thirds will just sit on top of that bar? I guess we'll see pretty soon!

The set looks so much better and bigger now.

I just hope it's not going to be these coming out of the closet again. Trying to think what system these were made on. The keying on the Electoral College bug is just awful.

Hideous weren't they? Particularly the attempt at a BBC News DOG on One:

The quality of BBC reporting certainly hasn't improved since 2008.

Have heard a lot of talk of the election being 'too close to call'. Anybody actually looking at the polls would see Obama is fairly consistently ahead. It seems close but when looking at state by state contests this translates to a fairly significant majority for Obama.

My prediction: Obama to win by 68 votes in the electoral college and by a popular vote of 1.5-2.5%

Before midnight someone will have referred to 'Obama's home state of Chicago' and 'voting has closed in North Hampshire'.

Thanks for this. It's so refreshing to see different colours used for once! The two graphics there look very similar to the ones used in 2008. I loved almost everything about ITV's coverage then so I'm hoping they are just as good this time round. One thing I will say - the reliance on grey (as with the normal set) does dull everything down somewhat. Not that I'm complaining about seeing the back of yellow for a bit, of course. Smile

Thanks.

I agree about the set too. I never really cared for it that much, but seeing it dressed in totally different colours, it sort of comes in to it's own for once.

By the way, the graphics, opening titles and theme music for tomorrow are really good IMO. In fact I think the opening titles may even offer a hint at what the new titles will look like in January?

Jeremy Vine did a bit of an overview of the polls so far and the numbers needed to win tomorrow night on The Ten earlier. Seems there's quite an obvious echo in TC5, and the Beeb also appear to have added some background whirring sound effects a bit like you hear on CSI when they are doing some futuristic web searches in the forensic lab. Was weird.
