It appears they've had the builders in in Washington! I hope the upstairs neighbours didn't mind...

Ooh that looks nice. They should definitely try and do that for normal broadcasts in there. It makes the place look so much bigger.

I wonder if it's real or not. BBC Arabic have a studio with a superimposed/CGI "upstairs" like this. Watching BBC WNA during the week, it didn't look as though there was an upper floor.

Well seeing as the upper level looks suspiciously like the background seen in N6, I doubt it.

Obviously cameras have been removed too. Not obvious until you look at the floor by the desk as the reflection strangely disappears for a part.

^Really hope that is sarcasm.

Agree with Chris, this would give World News America an impressive look. I'm wondering though if this is just keyed onto a locked-off wide shot or if there will be a bit of movement to sell the illusion?

It's just on the locked-off shot. Similar tricks have been used in N9 and Millbank.

Oh, and has anyone mentioned the theme tune? You might find it familiar. From two years ago.

What the camera doesn't see, the eye now can. #CGI #MattePainting

It's definitely a bit of generating dressing. The twitter image Ison posted on the previous page shows the ceiling in the studio.

Also given the panel on the desk and other bits and bobs they appear to be going for the little round button look like in 2008 rather than the Kerplunk graphics used for domestic elections.

The BBC set looks so much better this time around. IIRC last time they were pretty much in a cupboard.

I just hope it's not going to be these coming out of the closet again. Trying to think what system these were made on. The keying on the Electoral College bug is just awful.

Exactly the same studio, just a bit of smoke and mirrors to make it seem bigger!
