I don't see why Neon is so radically different, in your eyes.

I can't even work out what was so interesting about the tweet that was linked to anyway. And it was my tweet!

I'm a creature of habit. Plus I prefer my forums simple - posts, threads and that's it. All this extra-curricular activity (vids, tweets, tags etc) detracts from the core purpose. I hope that a "basic" forum-only feature lite version of TVF remains once Neon comes out of Beta.

Everyone's problems would have been averted had they viewed the tweet on Neon, where it displayed itself in all its wondrous glory.

Call me a luddite, but I'm on "old" TVF, and will continue to be until it's taken offline. It's a shame these things aren't backwards compatible.

You luddite.

Funnily enough, the reason such things aren't backwards compatible is because upgrading a version of the site that will be taken offline to match the new version's post features would be stupid.

I certainly hope not. It would make the site harder to change in future, and would leave you disappointed when the inevitable would happen, and the feature would be dropped.

I hated the new site when I first saw it. After 20 minutes, I got used to it. It may take you longer to get used to it, but it does grow on you. Don't forget that videos were available on the old site, and tweets were often linked to or quoted - embedding them is only a small step. Tags make the search a lot better.

EDIT: You're also missing out on a whole board by not using Neon.

It was to stop the Daybreak fanboys worrying that Daybreak has been axed. It also let people know who didn't stay up 'till, or wake up at, 6:20 what time it ended.

To be fair, neon's most scary issues have been toned down with the last two code drops

ITV had a pretty good night ratings wise on Tuesday. They didn't topple the BBC of course but head to head from 11.35pm-6am they got 197,000 compared to 250,000 on BBC1.

Not bad at all really.

Strong lead in from the football and NaT.

Must have been a bloody good News at 10 if it retained the audience for 7 hours...

Just thought I'd add in that having had a look around, the NBC News graphics package (which was used in the 2010 mid-terms first) looked stunning once more. Probably the best of the lot. Available on Youtube.

Got a link to the package? Or is it just various videos showing it?
