I thought it was a case of them already having done stuff from the poll room at times other times during the evening. If it was staged I doubt she'd have talked about her ear piece failing in the corridor in rehearsals...

Rather abrupt ending on ITV, Alistair cut off, black screen, Daybreak with no titles.

I was wondering what was going to happen on ITV. There was still an STV logo hanging about post-6pm and ITN were still in charge. Did someone just notice?

Of course, ITV PLC running the network feed and Daybreak these days presumably makes this sort of thing a bit easier to handle. In the old days, ITV1 would have had to hand over half-way through Romney's speech.

Typical. At least with BBC there is some continuity, or they keep running in overnight studio until a convenient point

Of course, the best coverage tonight was by Comedy Central. Those watching ITV were watching the wrong Stewart, and Dimbleby has nothing on Colbert.
