For the record, as far as I could make out NBC were first to declare Obama as President at 04:15 GMT, closely followed by CNN and CBS. Interestingly ABC took until 04:25 to declare - they waited for their local affiliates to re-join the network.

I don't have access to Fox, but I'm presuming they are still convincing themselves that Romney will win.

And there's the BBC's 'Obama victory' sting. They never got to declare a victory at the last general election, but not only did they have a sting, they had some fancy lighting effects.

BBC coverage drab, uninspired and behind the rest.

Luckily, I tuned into ITV (NBC) at exactly the moment it was declared. There was some confusion at the time from Alistair about what was going on, but once he stopped talking, all was fine. Laughing

I just turned over to ITV to hear Alastair Stewart describe 'a sea of union flags in Chicago'. It's been a long night, I suppose.

Shambolic stuff on Fox News as they openly question their decision desk on air just because of Karl Rove's theory that the race isn't over. By all means let Rove express that opinion on air but to then go interrogate their own journalists/experts live just because of Rove's view is extremely poor and must be embarrassing for the decision desk.

But I guess it makes for good tv..

I think this is looking like an Obama landslide after all the hype of it being close.

RT called it before any of the US networks.

I've asked on the forum, but I guess it's worth while here: Has anyone captured the moment Sky broke the news? My recording failed. Mad

OK . . . well I admit to concentrating on the US networks!

Yeah, their site was calling before everyone else pretty consistently!

In Ohio, Romney has just overtaken Obama.
