I'm slightly surprised to see so many poppies in evidence on the BBC with this being simulcast on World - I thought the party line was that poppies weren't worn on World?

Dimbleby needs to step aside with the utmost self respect. He has delivered every election since I can recall with such amazement and professionalism, yet his refusal to embrace technology of which I know to be true... means he relies solely on in ear and monitors...of which the latter you will count a dozen in his election desks!

His delivery tonight is shockingly slow. Katty has an iPad, guests have iPads, Emily has a wall, he has nothing...

Please David... step down!

He doesn't need to step down, the BBC needs to have the guts to replace him. Emily Maitlis would be my pick.

Only thing that's bugging me with ITV's coverage is that, they join NBC and then a few seconds later, come right back out of it.

At least give the UK viewers a wee while of NBC coverage....

What about the decades of experience? He doesn't need a bloody iPad, he has a brain.

Finding Dimbleby's presentation fine, and the graphics are far superior to Sky's which are so small that they are practically invisible.

Have to agree ITV news is so much better tonight. Not as stuffy as the BBC but, crucially, not OTT and gimmicky either. Dimbelby really needs to step aside now.

How ridiculous. This kind of statement infuriates me.
Millions are watching David Dimbleby at the helm tonight - I am pleased the BBC still understand his worth and competence - he's leading the coverage for a reason.

There are alternatives if his approach isn't favoured - VR and iPads cannot, should not and will not replace a respected anchor.
