A bit disappointed by the BBC studio, the real parts are fine and nice enough, and the VR is as ok as it has been before. But the ceiling and fake NBH? Looks unrealistic. Is the AR power just not good enough to create something a bit more photo-realistic?

I miss Elstree and TC1.

Shame TC1 was never in play to be used again, but sadly money from bookings of productions outweighs that decision now as TC1 is the only big studio available at Television Centre now.


I do not know why Elstree was not used. There is plenty of space.

The cable cam they’re using to “cross the newsroom” to Reeta seems a bit less dramatic. It goes to the wall where the trundle cameras located against windows. It would be one thing if you could see Reeta and the touchscreen from the cable cam but you can’t.

I love ITV's election newsroom in the atrium. It's very impressive.

The Sky News YouTube stream doesn't seem to have any audio during the countdown to the Exit Poll.

BBC World News has a dirty feed, flipper telling viewers to go to bbc.co.uk and the clock is also on screen.

I’m thinking some of the Studio B elements would look better if they were physical set pieces like the large monitor area opposite the desk and next to the portal to Studio Al. If that one monitor element were physical and had a real screen part of it would look better IMO.

But I get that they needed it to be virtual to hide the cameras and all.

I have just missed the opportunity to screen capture, but just now the flipper was removed temporarily in WN, showing an old Gill Sans styled lower third saying something like "BBC World News welcomes viewer joining on the PBS in America...". That was shown exclusively on WN and in about 10 seconds that old lower third was removed, showing the identical flipper again.

Yep had that in New Zealand....It looked like it might have been using the old graphics maybe??

There was a dirty feed for James Mates in Brussels. All fixed now. One of the count centres feeds suffered from it too.

Here is a sample of RTÉ's graphic showing the exit poll. They have the same graphics in use from their own GE coverage in Ireland.
