I'm convinced that the BBC didn't do the map outside NBH in 2017, so I'm slightly surprised that it was brought back this year, especially given the winter conditions.

Did they ever use shots from the cable cam this year? I thought they just had a jib but just saw this photo but don't recall any shots from it. I felt the map looked better from it in 2015.

What is it with the BBC's obsession to hit the top of the hour? Jack Straw was giving an insightful interview only to be cut off so they could run the TOTH.

Frustrating isnt it, has happened every hour today, anything to do with it being on BBC World?

Boulton actually on-point today!

A really good transition as coverage moved from BBC 1 to BBC 2, also ending a World simulcast, handled by Emily Maitlis. These sort of things are often so clunky and involve a random change of presenter repeating what the last one has just said, but this time it was really smooth and they just got straight on with it.

She's just incredible, doesn't miss a trick, and for someone who's not used to broadcasting to several channels - that was handled perfectly.

Whenever they throw to it it has all the atmosphere of a Children In Need local opt.

So they're allowing their commercial operation to affect the quality of UK content.

Had every intention last night of watching ITV, but tuned into Sky at 9pm and stayed with it all night. Superb coverage.

Didn’t even tune into the BBC once.

with the slight catch that BBC Two joined a smidge too early, but I think that's probably the fault of the automation rather than anything News were doing.

Dont get me started on the Worldification of our domestic affairs, hate it when sometimes the language used subtly changes,
