Jeremy Vine said it takes about three years to build one of his virtual studios in the Facebook Live. How do they build the Lobby or the virtual view of the House of Commons? I’ve seen some devices that take more realistic versions of real locations, they take one of those 3D scanners with a high resolution camera. These are used by realtors in the US and make an incredible 3D/VR view of homes. Obviously taking the House of Commons or the lobby is more complex.
Interestingly enough (after a marathon day of impeachment hearings) MSNBC is turning to Cal Perry live from the ITV atrium with an overhead camera. The ITV technical crew are relaxing on the couch and they are relying on the ITV touch screen for some data.
Some of the lights went out during the report.

So sky are switching from the beautiful impressive studio to Kay Burley sat almost in the pitch black in Westminster. she has a funky desk but compared to the overnight coverage...meh
Excellent overnight coverage though. slight annoyance that Dermot kept cutting people off for no apparent reason. the VR graphics were great and Id love them to keep the spider cam. Reading an article someone posted on here they were just 20cm away from not been able to use it. It did seem to come very close to the box

To be fair after some of that election night presentation anything would've been a comedown. They've kept the music though (at least for now).
But it does seem odd to just go to a studio pretty much in darkness rather than Kay just anchoring from Sky Central.
Bianca Nobilo, Quest and Hala standing down now on CNNI - Isa Soares taking over coverage now with Max Foster in Downing Street and John Vause at CNN Centre (to cover anything Trump impeachment related). Cyril Vanier and Christiane Amanpour to join Isa later.
Huw Edwards' 6am intro was, I think, him trying to sound cheerful about being 'fizzing with energy' after 8 hours on air - but did come across as him being rather gleeful about the result...
Sky News even managed a nice closure to their 9 hour marathon. Other broadcasters (BBC Scotland, ITV News) have used office space for such things, but Sky News did it really well.
