Election Night Results 2019: Presentation and Coverage

Flicked on the BBC at 3 and what do we get, a pointless news bulletin with Tina Daheley. Back to Sky.

Sky just given their forecast for the result.

Good coverage by them. Studio looks fantastic, getting lots of counts live. Only things I would say are I do miss the decision time music, Beth Rigby isn’t being used to her full potential and Dermot seems to be cutting John/Beth off a bit too frequently unnecessarily.

CNN seem to be taking a lot of counts and other live feeds, almost too many, but they did manage to get the fight that broke out during John McDonnell's speech live.

Sky is winning. Much pacier, BBC really pedestrian.

Credit due to CNN, AJE and France 24 who have covered this from an international perspective.

Corbyn has just said he will not be contesting in the next election. He is not resigning anytime soon as Labour leader.

There will be more TV presentation in future on electing a new Lib Dem leader in Westminster after Jo Swinson lost her seat.

I know I've already made my opinions on the Sky News music, and I might be alone in thinking this, but I hope they end up using the Election music permanently. It sounds very simple, but punchy.

For the first time in my life I abandoned BBC Election coverage and watched Sky News instead. So much better, pacey and professional. Excellent graphics and AR.

Goodness, epic stuff. I've read criticism of the new theme music but have to say it adds to that clip.
