Kemahl was telling viewers that these pictures were from other channels which are covering the race (or something like that)

Your right, but the presenter said it was something to do with other channels or other countries watching?

CNN have topped the lot. They just had Jessica Yellin live from Chicago VIA HOLOGRAM! never seen anything like that. She looked like the Master from Star Wars. Too funny.

France 24 is a bit of a shambles, it looks quite nice though:

Yep - though it is not a REAL hologram (whatever they say) - no lasers, no real 3D projection. Rather it is a very clever multi-angle HD capture system (something like 35 HD cameras capturing her from multiple directions against a blue screen) By tracking the cameras in the CNN studio it is possible to render the right viewpoint from these cameras and chroma key her into the scene.

It is using similar technology to some of the Production Magic stuff the BBC have done (and is a bit like the iVision near-live time slice stuff re-purposed) - and pretty pointless in the context of an election show (where you want to see the location - and not have yet another person in a studio) - but great fun nonetheless!

Very Star Wars.

Have to say that CNN does feel very assured - though I notice they've eased off their virtual 3D stuff on the table (which didn't seem to be that solidly motion locked - and not as well implemented as some of the UK election stuff of the past)
