They can only be as quick as CBS and Fox are. Though they are better at reporting them the projections from other networks (graphically anyway)
BBC call South Carolina to McCain so that's all three there.
Sky are still the only to call West Virginia.

Part of me is wondering about Mark Austin, and if he'll be used in a few hours where the White House will be more central to the broadcast.
And I agree with Alastair being Jeff Sterling light, but then again it's a bit more entertaining than the other network, in one respect I look and it feels empty in the studio, but then again on the other hand there aren't too many people trying to talk over each other, especially when the presenter is told many different things.

It should be mentioned that you can keep up to date with election goings on via the metropol twitter feed.

which is also of course, being displayed in a much better way on the site itself.... join the chatroom, plug plug plug
Anyhow, could someone please explain to me exactly why the BBC think its good to play that ghastly sting at the end of every countdown?

Adding to comments from other members earlier, the state name tag above the main strap only seems not to line up for certain states.
It seems to line up for Arizona, but not for Vermont or South Carolina.
Also disappointed to see that they didn't assign the correct font to the 'polls closing' countdown clock - it appears to be Swiss rather than Gill Sans. Some of the type also seems to be very poorly anti-aliased on the animated graphics.
And is that supposed to be a '3D' effect on the graphics? Why do none of the individual elements line up properly? The countdown close is out of alignment with the list of states below it, and the live/location bug also doesn't line up properly with the rest of the column. In the electoral college count block, the red and blue seem to be poorly aligned as well.
Sloppy.
