Don't suppose anyone has any caps from last night's coverage please? Was working on it up here in in the North West throughout so didn't see any of it?

Same. Well, I wasn't in the North West but I didn't see it.
As for the nations joining the coverage, BBC One NI's opt in was woeful (at 0005), just a BBC One Kites symbol, a locally played title sequence then a quick fade via black and crash into the coverage midway through a Tessa Jowell rant.... I suppose the election's no big thing in Northern Ireland, but is massive in Wales as all authorities are up for re-election, but even so, you'd think they'd have made some effort in Belfast to arrange for a cleanish opt in!
Hmmm... I think that's a little harsh! The programme was essentially was aimed at England and Wales. I think they'd have been laughed down if Belfast or Glasgow started ringing the gallery and asking for a "clean opt in" to a rolling giant of a programme where the times are dictated by events rather than any strategic planning.
Wales had the "luxury" of having an election and therefore a local presenter they could cut to, who then filled through until the regional opt-back. I didn't see Scotland's opt in, but I think BBC NI did the best they could have under the circumstances. They've also been crashing in and out of the snooker over this past week... again, not easy to arrange a clean opt in. Though on that I do wonder why the schedules couldn't be altered for two weeks to prevent such opting out.
Cheers Noggin. I know of the service, didn't realise there were devoted channels, thought it was just an option on the digibox. Got a funny story about The Tudors and Audio Desc - but not for this thread . . . .
They aren't separate channels on Freeview or for BBC services on DSat - they are just second audio streams (on Freeview the two are mixed in the receiver, on DSat you switch between them)
ITV and C4 only provide AD on the London variants of ITV1 and C4 on DSat (though provide the same system as the BBC on Freeview). Viewers who live outside the London region get the London variants for AD in the 900s.
Sounds like Virgin Media similarly provide separate channels.
ITV, Channel 4 and BBC all do audio description in the same way on DSAT, the AD is only broadcast on the London version of the channels and as a second audio channel (with AD and the main audio mixed by the broadcaster as you say), so Sky viewers in London get the option of AD on 101,103,104 and 135 Sky viewers outside of London have to switch to the London versions of these channels somewhere in the 900s to get the AD option.

Here's Vine looking like a twit, demonstrating the Lib Dems' results.
I have some pictures of the studio with David Dimbleby on the other machine, but Ubuntu is being a bit touch and go at the moment. They may appear shortly.
According to the BBC, the London result won't be called until 20.30BST or later. So, they'd need to cut into Corrie Family album or a Question of Sport.
We shall see.
EDIT: The result was expected between 18.00 and 18.30 initially.
