Especially when the ITV News/ITN cameraman fell flat on his face in the ITN offices last night Live on air!

He didn't fall, the steadycam broke and he caught it.

He deserves a medal for that... did anyone capture it or upload it to youtube yet?

I suppose that we can take it for granted that BBC One will indeed roll with news until 6pm.

I think that's pretty much a dead certainty now. It's a very big and developing news story. At least they're getting their money's worth from that set in TC1!

I forgot to say - credit should go to all the ITN team producing the ITV programme. They had a minuscule budget compared to the BBC, yet they put on a remarkably good show regardless. It just goes to show - big isn't always best Wink

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Even small aspects of ITV's coverage - graphics, for example - were nicely done. Though it was a bit disappointing not having the usual theme music, I liked the new election night music which sounded just as authoritative.

Oh, don't be so damn well petty - did you even see it?

Yeah, the ITV graphics have been excellent - simple but very effective. I had a look at the BBC's and Sky News HD's and I liked neither of those. The BBC's looked boring and generic and Sky's contained way too much information to comprehend!

I wasn't sure about the ITV theme music when I first heard it. I thought it was good, but I didn't think it was as good as 2005. However, it has grown on me and I think it worked very well indeed last night. It's modern and fresh but authoritative at the same time. The closing theme in particular is superb.

It was fine with the HD graphics. I noticed earlier during the weather, the camera panned lower and on HD you saw the newswall floor, but on SD the bottom of the map.

BBC's Science correspondent David Shukman in Buckingham with their count. Smile It's nice to see the special correspondents doing different things and they can do the tedious jobs of the nitty gritty reporting out of their own areas.
