Was that a recorded ident that they planned to play at 6am?

"Good morning and welcome to BBC1, now a Breakfast Election Special" at 9am!

Don't see why it would be. It is the first time that viewers have been welcomed to BBC One this morning, and it is a Breakfast Election Special.

@bbcsport, @m_in_m, my mistake! BBC One indeed! Odd time to start though, given Breakfast usually ends in fifteen minutes time!

Perhaps the local opt will happen after the 9am summary.

Strange though - earlier at 7.25am, Northern Ireland and Scotland both opted out for a full 35 minutes, but Wales only opted out for the normal 5-minute local update. Presumably the English regions did the same.

You wouldn't think Sian had rehearsed this...

Jon just handed to the nations/regions for local election programs (as scheduled until 9:30am). Jon & Sian has continued the Breakfast special on the BBC News Channel & BBC Parliament & will return at 9:30am - David will continue coverage from 11am

Just the English regions at the moment . . . the nations continuing with the network programme.

Look North now with Christa Ackroyd, apparantly for half an hour.

Would it have been better for David Dimbleby to hand over straight to the regions at 9am and then the network pick up again at 9.30am, rather than that messy start to 'Breakfast' that lasted about 5 minutes

Certainly a "Here's the news where you are" cue Jon and Sian on NC & Nations and Regions for England would have made more sense! Certainly more consistent with what they normally do for these things.

At 9:25 is ITV back to Alistair in their Election programme?

The Labour and Lib Dem spokesmen on BBC Look East are both sharing a sofa with the Conservative sat on his own. Symbolic?
