Northern Ireland's counts do not begin until 9am. Coverage will be on air in the afternoon... cable and Freeview viewers outside NI can see the BBC NI election programme courtesy of BBC Parliament. Satellite viewers can of course see it on BBC ONE NI.

And then there's our Local Government elections, which were also today. That count starts on Monday, meaning we've a potential of four days of election results programmes... cos the final result won't be known 'til Tuesday! And I like election programmes, but really...!

Is anyone else missing the bottom half of their ticker on BBC One and Sky, or is my TV just knackered?

You're not the only one. My TV has the same issue, with the bottom third of the ticker on N24 being snipped off. My TV's geometry settings are quite happy though - it was working perfectly fine with the standard N24 ticker - with a couple of lines' gap between the ticker and the base of the screen in fact. The N24 election graphics certainly seem a good deal lower than where they're normally positioned.

For the record, I'm having no such issues with Sky News.

I'm going to be interested to see how the regions get on superimposing their astons... Presumably they'll have some sort of opaque ticker where the transparent one has been so far (to line up with the bottom of the tower where its got 'to win: 324'.

I like the BBC's astons - a bit too much twisting and animating on/off of the tower for my liking, but the way the Hold and Gain graphics animate on is much smoother and slicker than the clunky News 24 style.

Err... ITV have missed the second AND the third announcements...hardly the "fastest service on the night" is it? They wern't even Live at the last one! Don't get me wrong, I thought ITV had over-estimated themselves from the off, but this is a bit of a bad start isn't it??

And I just want to say I LOVE the BBC table! Very nice! And any chance of some caps of Sky News?

Notice we are being called "North" instead of "Yorks & Lincs"!

The sound effects for Peter Snow's swingometer are pretty classy too:

Click.. whirr... clunk.

Now if Sky had something like that to replace their Breaking News swoosh...

Indeed, their onscreen seat counter still shows LAB: 2, Rest: 0

...and the results bar is now up, but they STILL haven't added the Houghton result!

Paxman started a fight in an empty house on BBC2 Scotland (and presumably BBC1 Network). Great fun. Much more interesting than watching the highly tedious Dimbelby brothers continue their monopoly.
