Have Adam and Julie really been presenting for nearly 12 hours now? Shocked Shocked Shocked Did they have any breaks overnight?

I was expecting (though in hindsight I could have checked in all the listings, which were more detailed than they usually are) them to changeover at 6am. There was a lingering shot of Big Ben at that point which I thought signalled a change of gallery staff as well - find it difficult to believe you could produce / direct / vision mix for more than 9 hours, but perhaps they did.

There didn't seem many chances for them to have anything to eat either, only a handful of occasions when they switched the studio mikes off and not that many long speeches they took - also after 4.30ish the results (or at least the live declarations) started to dry up, and they had to spend far more time talking to the studio guests.

Adam is back at 7pm with a final edition of the Boulton Factor.

Michael Howard is going - Thank God!

Just want to ask one question again - what did BBC Wales and BBC Scotland do for the regional opt-outs of the network programme considering they had their own programme on BBC1 - was it just a simulcast.

In summary - the BBC network programme had the best studio, though BBC Wales had the best presenter.

ITV had by far the best graphics - clear and simple with all the info required without dominating the screen.

I did like the Sky layout - it had some interesting info and was quite clear - but it was too much. Would have been better to have the programme full screen but a multiscreen option to have all the extra info.

The BBC graphics - I'm another person who hates the News 24 graphics - in widescreen they just dominate too much of the screen!

And he's back (having gone across London) right now, just four hours later.

Bloody hell.

There wasn't any regional opt-outs on the BBC. Just overlaid captions every now and then

During the regional opt-out UTV went to adds, but half way through the first one, they cut back to ITN, where they were discussing the situation in Northern Ireland, ITN had taken into consideration that UTV wouldn't bother getting anyone in to do the opt-out!

I am now awake again...

So Michael Howard is leaving...

How many more bauld old men are there left in the party to become leader. Cant say I am sorry to see Howard go, he was a reminder of the Thatcher days, a past the tories need to bury as soon as possible.

My only assumption is that he dragged himself in once he knew about Howard going, and wouldn't have been there in "normal" circumstances.

I'm going to go for David Davis. Letwin has ruled himself out, can't really imagine Rifkind getting it (at least I hope not).
