Erection?? I don't think that Anne and Jackie will be in a x-rated film - even though the 'X' is the symbol for the BBC coverage. Laughing Laughing

The trailer for the show looked good tonight - don't think there will be Crossroads set!!

Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!

I will probably watch Sky's Coverage on Five, as It will be in Widescreen I think, and may switch to sky news active if anything of interest appears, like my local constituency call.

I also plan on watching The Dead ringers Election Special, as well as Bremner Bird and Fortune Special

I will be watching ITV, simply presentation wise and it should be more fun than the BBC. Sky News also looks good, but the BBC's promotions so far looks as dreary as the election itself. Of course its going to with Peter Snow, my god, havnt they buried him yet! His swingometers are so outdated. I will also be switching over to Sky every now and again.

Do you ever say anything constructive about the BBC? Considering "ITV1" aren't even bothered enough to create a real set or to create any innovative promotion of the event, as well as putting speed before accuracy and putting very little if any emphasis on interactive services.

BBC on the other hand have been promoting the Election with well produced and well thought out trailers for weeks now. They have created a 2-storey set, which is much more pleasing to the eye than the chunky desk and fakeness of the ITV set, and they have much more appealing graphics than "ITV1".

I dont think so mate, even the presenters make me cringe. The only good things to come out of the BBC is BBC London, a light relief from the usual druiness of the BBC. Who cares that ITV uses a VR? As long as it looks good and works for the viewer, who cares? Its the BBC's problem if they want to create a 2 storey set, and spend x amounts of money. And since did I mention's ITV1's graphics? I was talking about ITV News, and well produced trailers? Cartoons of the big eared Andrew Marr, and half dead Peter Snow? Give me strength.

But for the vast majority of people... that ITV News set doesn't work. It's rare to hear comments about the look of a particular programme around here, but one I frequently hear is "that big news set is bloody awful". And they're right. People don't want to be watching flying blue squares or anything which looks fake. I feel the same way about the BBC 1, 6, 10 News set... the background is really awful. But not half as awful as the big curved wall in the basement of ITN. However, when you think about sets with very little VR in them, they tend to work much better.

And clearly you don't read Broadsheet papers much, because those trails on BBCTV at the moment come from the same branch of thought as the 'cartoon' strip(s) in Newspapers. I think they work very well, better than the VR and 'special' effects of the ITV trail.

Oh... and on the topic of half-dead presenters, ITV's Election Night presenters aren't exactly spring chickens are they? Confused

Well for those who it doesnt work, then fu*king tough isnt it? Its not my problem they dont like it. Who cares if it is fake? Its doing the news isnt it? If you have such a problem with it being fake, then I suggest looking at yourself, you might have a shock. Just shut your mouth.

And on presenters, I think you will find Alistair Stewart & Co a lot more interesting. You must try taking a lighter side to life mate, instead of worrying about something be fake and worrying so much about an election!

Special effects is alot moe exciting than none!

You're really stuck up your own ąrse aren't you. It's actually mainly the quality of the Election programme that I'll be more concerned about. BBC and Sky News always do a good show, but in 2001 I was extremely dissapointed with ITV's efforts. And the "ITV News" has gone way downhill since.... I wont be expecting any quality from them tomorrow night if the last month's coverage is anything to go by.

I would normally go with ITN's coverage, but this year I'm going to switch between ITVBBC/Sky, to see how all are performing. I'm not too keen on the 'Party on the Thames' idea or the 'fun cartoons', but then again things may turn out differently.
