Election 2015 - BBC Regions News changes - 15 min post NAT

First time watching the extended One O'Clock News. It's rather strange to get used to the fact that the nations have to opt out and it's all rather drawn out.

They've got sport now from Salford in a stood-up position near a plasma in the studio.

Yes it's a bit of a clunky opt-out, although it has gotten better since they started it. Yesterday it was a drawn out 'this is the BBC News at 1... the time is half past 1.... the headlines this afternoon', whilst today there was only a brief pause for the nations to opt.

So, for viewers in Scotland, I'm guessing that "Scotland 2015" which airs on BBC Two Scotland at 22:30 is now recorded earlier 'as live'? I say this as I note the 15 min Reporting Scotland from 22:30 on BBC One Scotland is now using the main studio for this longer bulletin, as opposed to their newsroom desk/other studio with background pic.

Obviously they can't both use the same main studio at the same time, yet on screen appear to be...

I thought it was always recored? since Reporting scotand uses the same studio for that 10.30- 10.38 bulltin.

I know that Newsnight Scotland was never recorded as you couldn't fake such poor opt-ins and running out of time at the end of the show. Also, it ran 23:00 to 23:20 so the main news studio was available.

I don't know about Scotland 2015. As they do a "tomorrow's front pages" bit at the end of the show, this is what makes me wonder how on earth it could be recorded earlier - unless part of the show is? Genuinely confused.

What if the reporting scotland is recored? even at 10.15-10.25? Of course the introduction to Scot2015 is also recorded I think at 10pm?

I'd be surprised at that. Unlike the BBC to record any news.

Just highlights how stupid the scheduling is though - surely be better to move Scotland 2015 to BBC1 and merge it with Reporting Scotland for a 10.30-11pm bulletin.

The scheduling is very strange, you have to assume that both programmes are chasing the same audience, putting them up against each other seems like madness.

Just noticed that Reporting Scotland gets a live UK wide showing Mon - Thurs, this week, coinciding with the SNP Conference and it's aftermath on BBC Parliament.

I guess ironically the one point every 5 years when politics really does take centre stage is the one point where BBC Parliament is struggling to fill it's schedule.
