I'm sure an inferior set etc will be put into oblivion with Anne's journalistic skills.
There will be coverage of things beyond Hadrian's Wall.
I will be watching the BBC ONE Scotland - because it will be of a high standard - journalistically off course.

Do we know that's safe yet? I bet Bernard Ponsonby is begging to get his own show, since that's what the other side are doing.
If the whole thing is anything like BBC Scotland's sports coverage, instead of tickers and seat counts you'll just have one massive DOG:
[B][B][C] GENERAL ELECTION COVERAGE Scotland

I'll be sticking with ITV1 in that case.

I don't understand why the BBC keep doing things like this - it's clearly massively unpopular. There are apparently loads of people who turn over to BBC Wales/NI on Sky Digital when Newsnight Scotland comes on, just so they can watch the rest of the ''proper'' programme.
The only dramatic thing about the election in Scotland is the boundary changes, and the upsets that might cause, but really the thing is going to be decided in England.
Pretty stupid decision... and yet more money down the drain.

Agreed. Unfortunately, I don't have Sky so I have to stick to Scotland.

The annoying bit isn't that it will be decided in England and therefore we should have an English programme (large parts of England are pretty uncontested too), its that any stories that break in Scotland will be important to England and vice versa, that's the nature of a National Election. I guess it'll be nice not to be interrupted by English Council results, but I guess they won't be getting much coverage anyway.
Unless...and I stress this is speculation...BBC are planning something about the councils on TWO or NEWS 24. Then Scottish viewers would have the double whammy of a half-baked election programme, or local council elections. Though if that were to happen, surely someone at QMD would have the sense to put national election on TWO, since English local elections definitely don't matter compared to general election.

I am really enjoying Channel 4 News' coverage of the election so far and also their news programmes.
The studio has just enough interest to keep you watching, the colour scheme is muted and not too 'in yer face'.
Also the presenters and news content are just right!
If ITN can produce a high-quality product like this for Channel 4 why can't they emulate it for ITV News?
Surely there must be more money and resources for ITV News but it seems to be the poor relation!
I used to religiously watch the ITV Lunchtime news every lunchtime but now I prefer to watch Channel 4 News at Noon.
Channel 4 News seem to be the only bulletin/station that hasn't dumber down!
People still want to watch the news for NEWS (shock!) nto light items and fillers! Thats what This Morning and other magazine programmes are for!
