I quite these - better than the very pale wishy-washy animation on the News Channel:

Anne will be heading BBC Scotland's election coverage - according to a BBC press release (5th April) guess this is down to the Wark/McConnell Gate scandal??
I also see that Jackie Bird and Brian Taylor will be joining her in the studio.
Am I correct to say that this is the FIRST time Anne and Jackie will be on screen together?? Bet the Record will love this.

Anyone else notice the updated national news titles (just used on the 1935 news summary on BBC One)? The explosion at the start has a large white X and the BBC's election logo in animated form. Worked quite well I think.

From (poor) memory, Sky have:
Labour: Michelle Clifford and Andrew Wilson. Pretty sure Clifford did Labour in 2001 and possible 97 as well.
Conservative: Emma Hurd and Dominic Waghorn. Think Hurd might've done one of the parties at the last election too?
Lib Dem: Greg Milam (interesting to get him out of the studio) and Lisa Holland.
I'm surprised Tim Marshall isn't doing one of the teams this time. He was fantastic with the Lib Dems in 2001.

Out of interest, does anyone know why Sky use foreign correspondents (namely Wilson, Hurd and Waghorn) when surely reporters living and working in Britain would be better placed to report on a UK election. Doesn't this also leave the overseas bureaux understaffed?

The ugliest BBC page in the world, that is.
Coincidentally, Bail, did you design the new E2005 logo for the BBC? It looks a hell of a lot like your sig.

Ison is right... they're just very experienced reporters.
Only three are from foreign bureaux and they have replaced them with other correspondents during the campaign. Not a massive logistical operation.
Will be interesting to see whether there are any more changes for tomorrow, as that's the day the thing really kicks off.
Anyone else baffled to see these ''immigrants'' on Sky News saying 'we need to stop immigration, there's too many of them'? Bizarre.

Our friends at Scottish and Grampian gave some details of their election coverage plans on the political programme 'Politics Now' on Thursday night.
Not sure if any localised coverage is planned for the night itself (doubtful as the BBC is so dominant when it comes to the OBs).
But from what Michael Crow said on Thursday, they be quizzing prominent political party officials in 'Election Face to Face' fronted by Bernard 'orange' Ponsonby.

..and 'The Scottish 500' return. It's basically a show where they put forward the results of a poll of 500 Scottish voters to politicans in a studio based 'Question Time' style format, with a studio audience.

Nice to see a bit of effort so far.

Well HTV have promised a 'comprehensive' election night coverage for Wales -- so if 2001 is anything to go by, four of the five terrestrial channels [which is all of them really] will be election-filled.
Mind you I haven't seen any ITV election weather slots this time -- which were fun in a sad sort of way.
