They had a lovely piece from Milton Keynes on how WORM-like technology works- I personally think it's quite an interesting concept for viewers as long as the panel size is reasonable enough to make it worthwhile.

Is this the same technology that Itv uses every now again on the Evening News. It plots a graph of the pannel's feelings (+ve or -ve) during a politician's speech?

EDIT: just seen 'cat's' post- I guess its the same thing

Well, thanks to everyone who explained it to me.
I do recall CBS were streaming a graph on their website during the Presidential Election debates but never realised that this was known as using 'WORM'. Cheers.

All in all top stuff...and as a bonus to all viewers, Peter Snow will be swinging every Saturday night.

Never knew he had it in him to swing every night.... fit boy, isn't he? Wink

Wonder if Breakfast will come from the main set on Election results morning, or stay in their own set as in 2001?

I hope that they will go into the main set- as in 1997. No mention of presenters in the press pack - I take it Kaplinsky will co-host with Dermot? This will be a test for her - if she carries it off well I'll be amazed.

No, Election results morning is on 6th May 2005 which is a Friday, hence Bill and Sian will probably be presenting that day.

No - surely the main ancors will be in - even though Bill and Sian would be nice.

Whilst I like most of the graphics Sky has come up with so far, there is something bugging me about that Vote '05 box. I think it might look better if it was moved up slightly to allow the ticker to run underneath it. Not sure, the whole bottom left of the screen is poorly aligned and just doesn't look right!

The Interest Index is at 31% when more people are bored than interested... So if the bored and interested figures switched (bored 32%, interested 63%) then the Interest Index would go negative, to -31%.

Isn't it rather counter-intuitative to have an Interest Index that's becomes lower the more people become interested?

On the BBC Press release, Jane Hill is in the image for the coverage but nowhere in the release does it tell you what she'll be doing. Any one know? Great to see her doing something anyway.

The cynic in me suspects that Jane is on the front of that press release to give a bit more of a male/female balance...

From what we've seen so far, I think Sky News has by far the best graphics, apart from keeping the current straps but with modifications. News 24's graphics just look so static, and ITV NC's are a bit dull.

News 24 and Sky nearly match each other in terms of content, although Sky are just ahead I feel. ITV NC is a disappointment, except for the Live with Alastair Stewart programmes, which are just as good as the News 24 and Sky coverage.

I enjoyed Newsnight's coverage last night but once again it was *RUINED* by the pointless junk that is Newsnight Scotland. Why not just scrap the thing? It's not an SP election it's a Westminster one so lets stay with the coverage from London.

That programme really is perfetic (I'm now spelling pathetic like that without realising too, see what this place does to people?!) It's as bad as The World except substituting Hollyrood for Palestinian Women.

They seem to have fixed that this morning. The index is simply the difference between Interested and bored. The graphic above should say -31%. And this morning it does.
